Your experience in the service: Lester joined the army for WWII. He was initially trained in the Medical Corps. Later, he transferred to entertainment services as a writer/producer of shows for the troops and spent 4 years in this capacity. One of Lester´s favorite service-related stories was of being assigned to a small group of men under the command of an unpopular Officer. Their task was to float a truck over the river on a barge. The Officer made it a point that the success of this task would reflect well in his record. The project ended in a disaster when the barge, truck and all sank before reaching the far shore. The officer was severely reprimanded and the troops laughed.
